This intervention at Ucac-Icam had a lasting impact by providing valuable information and forging connections with these young individuals. Many participants expressed their gratitude for the resources and personalized advice. I sincerely hope this will foster their personal growth, community development, and contribute to the visibility of the Cameroonian chapter and the rise of the project management profession in Cameroon.
Engaging with students at UCAC Icam underscores the pressing need to educate and empower Africans with project management skills. This aligns perfectly with my purpose and PMI’s NEXT vision, as sharing knowledge and mentoring future leaders are vital to effective leadership. The PMI University Outreach program provides this opportunity. The genuine interest shown by the students is encouraging and bolsters hope for Africa’s Agenda 2063. We must cultivate project management expertise to be prepared, and I encourage all universities and colleges to participate in this program.
The UCAC-ICAM outreach reaffirmed that leadership is about empowering others and fostering growth. Engaging with students highlighted the importance of giving back, listening and inclusivity.
Moving forward, we will continue focusing on inspiring and nurturing the next generation of project leaders in Cameroon by sharing PMI’s vision and creating opportunities for youth.

Volunteering at PMI Cameroon Chapter today is the living expression of my Ikigai: I thrive by serving, I learn by doing, I grow by sharing and I build myself by inspiring others. Every moment spent in this community feeds my heart, refines my vision and aligns my passion with my life mission, my X factor, and helps me every day with the support and guidance of my elders in project management and in life to improve both professionally and personally.
I have been a volunteer at PMI since shortly after I joined the PMI Cameroon Chapter in 2018.
I have had the opportunity to take a variety of volunteering roles, such as Assistant PM for PMICC participation in PMI Africa Conference in Tanzania, member of the organisation team for the PMICC 5th Anniversary, member of the 2020 Elections Committee, Brand Ambassador for the PMI Products KickOff and Citizen Developer, PM mentor for PMICC at the Women Shine for Africa program, member of the Paper Review committee for PMI GSS Africa in Rwanda, and currently a Graphic Designer for PMICC.
Opportunities have been abundant, and each one has not only enhanced my skills in a different area, but given me access to incredible Project Management professionals who inspire me. Most importantly my project management skills were built up through hands on application.
I am glad to testify that through my volunteering experience I have lived the saying that ‘Good things happen when you get involved with the PMI’.
